The Bicycle/Fan Blade/Outboard Engine!

How did they figure out the gearing? Luck.

The fan blade/bicycle/out board!

The fan blade/bicycle/out board!

Assembled in short time, two bicycle frames, three chains, and a three bladed fan from a regular household electric air fan for the propeller. They put this on their three-barrelled raft and went from the confluence of the Kansas River down the Missouri River for 4 miles to the boat ramp, winning the race against the other raft. The blade of the mechanism was lowered into the water and the crank turned by hand… I think they made this thing in a couple hours. Sean, Jeffrey, and two other people i cant remember their names. Lots of free time in Kansas City, Missouri!
